Understanding Genres ..

During our last media lesson , we went through the typical conventions surrounding particular genres within film ; it was interesting to see how different things are immediately associated as belonging to a specific type of film .

For example it's easy to link 'cliche' one liners and Hollywood explosions to the "action" genre as these are things which are typical with that particular type of film.

During the lesson we were made to 'dress up' and construct a short production demonstrating a genre of film , my group was given the task of creating a 'disaster' movie ; at first we felt it would be a impossible task but through using technology it became quite easy as we were able to speed and slow down footage for dramatic effect as we as using effects.

Overall I believe that it the task was beneficial to us a group .
